Corrections policy

Found an error? Tell us: corrections@splitatlas.com. Include the page URL and what's wrong; a source helps but isn't required.

What happens next

  1. We verify against primary sources - the manufacturer's technical documents, AHRI records, or the program's official page - not against other websites.
  2. Safety-relevant errors (electrical values, refrigerant handling, anything that could hurt someone or damage equipment) are corrected within 24 hours of confirmation. The page carries a dated correction note.
  3. Factual errors (specs, prices, availability) are corrected promptly; the underlying database record is fixed too, so the error doesn't resurface elsewhere.
  4. Disputed values - where sources genuinely disagree - display as "disputed - verifying" rather than as certainty, until we resolve them against the highest-priority source.

Why corrections make the site better

Every specification here carries a source record. When you catch an error, the fix improves not just one page but every page, calculator result, and comparison that reads the same record. That's the point of building on a database instead of articles.

Prices and availability

Prices change faster than any site can promise. Every price we display shows its check date, and prices older than 60 days are dropped rather than shown stale. If a price is wrong at the retailer, trust the retailer's checkout over our snapshot - and tell us so we can recheck.
