Two things to know when reading it. First, marketed capacity and certified capacity often differ: several "24k" systems certify 22,000 or 23,000 BTU, and we publish the certified figure. Second, the efficiency number and the cold-weather rating are independent — plenty of high-SEER2 systems are rated only to +5F, so a system that looks efficient on paper may not heat your house in February.
