We built the mini-split reference we couldn't find.

Buying a mini split means answering questions most product reviews never touch. Will it actually heat your garage when it's 5°F outside? Does your electrical panel have room for it? Is the "12,000 BTU" on the box the same 12,000 BTU in the engineering data? What does "DIY-friendly" mean for your warranty?

SplitAtlas exists to answer those questions with data instead of adjectives.

What we are

A structured database of ductless mini-split systems - their published performance, electrical requirements, installation specs, documentation, and real prices - wrapped in tools that turn your room, climate, and budget into a short list you can act on.

  • Every specification is traced to a source. A manufacturer submittal sheet, an AHRI certificate, an Energy Star listing. You can see when we last verified each number, and where it came from.
  • Missing data says so. If a manufacturer hasn't published a value, we show "not published." We don't guess, and we don't fill gaps with numbers from other websites.
  • Scores are computed, not assigned. Our ratings come from a documented methodology run against normalized data - and a system with incomplete data gets an "unrated" badge, not a quietly lower score.
  • Sponsorship never touches scoring. Sponsored placements, when they exist, are labeled. Our scoring pipeline has no field for who paid us.

What we are not

We are not an HVAC contractor, and our sizing tools are planning estimates - not a substitute for a Manual J load calculation or a licensed professional's judgment. We tell you when a job needs an electrician or a technician, because pretending otherwise sells equipment and burns houses.
