Code Notes
- The City of Montgomery's current-linked mechanical fee schedule, effective 2024-10-31, lists a $50 mechanical-permit base fee. An air- conditioning system with or without heat, expressly including mini- splits, adds $10 up to 3 tons, $15 above 3 through 5 tons, or $18 above 5 through 10 tons, then $3 per ton above 10 tons. Other work and inspections can add charges. This is a Montgomery planning example, not a statewide fee; the local authority must confirm the required permit and current total.
