Florida Power & Light Residential HVAC Program

Applications open

FPL program standards effective September 1, 2025 publish the residential HVAC rebate and do not state an application pause or closure.

Does not cover single-zone mini-splits

Customer must hire an FPL Participating Independent Contractor; no rebate for the same HVAC system within the past two years except at FPL discretion; installation must be a complete replacement of an existing electric-driven cooling system.

JEA Heating and Cooling Rebates - Ductless Mini-Split HVAC Systems

Efficiency
Equipment must be ENERGY STAR certified and the HVAC system must be rated in the AHRI database; heat pump systems must meet JEA's published SEER2/EER2/HSPF2 minimums, including split-system Tier 1 minimums of 16 SEER2, 11.0 EER2, and 8.0 HSPF2.
Install
Customer may work with a JEA pre-qualified contractor or apply online after the HVAC contractor completes the project; AHRI certificate must include all installed components; rebate is for conditioning domestic living space only; applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase or installation and no later than October 10, 2026.

Code Notes

  • Florida Statutes section 553.73 establishes the Florida Building Code for building design and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, and gas systems, while enforcement and interpretation are vested in the local government board or agency with jurisdiction.
  • Florida permit fees are local. Miami-Dade's mechanical fee sheet gives a municipal data point with a $227.90 minimum mechanical permit fee, air-conditioner new system and exact change-out fees of $24.17 per ton, and a residential exact change-out air-conditioner and heating fee of $130 per system.
