The answer
Both wear the same badge, and they are not remotely the same product. The ATMOSPHERA runs SEER2 27.4 and is rated to -13F; the ENTRA runs SEER2 18 and stops at +5F. At 5F outside, the ATMOSPHERA is certified to deliver 11,000 BTU and the ENTRA 4,600 - less than half. If you are buying a Daikin because it is a Daikin, this is the page to read first, because the badge is doing a lot of work that the cheaper unit cannot.

The trap: ENTRA looks more efficient in the cold, and is not
Read the COP figures and you would think the ENTRA wins deep cold: COP at 5F of 2.2 against the ATMOSPHERA's 1.8. Coefficient of performance is a real efficiency measure, and higher is better.
Now read the capacity next to it. At 5F the ENTRA delivers 4,600 BTU and the ATMOSPHERA 11,000.
COP tells you how efficiently a system converts electricity into heat. It does not tell you how much heat. The ENTRA is efficient at producing a small amount - which is little comfort in a cold room, because a system that cannot meet the load runs constantly, leans on backup heat, or simply does not keep up. Efficiency only matters once capacity is sufficient.
The capacity curves make the difference plain. The ATMOSPHERA is rated 11,000 BTU at 47F and 11,000 at 5F - it holds its full output. Neither one is ENERGY STAR certified
Worth knowing before you plan around a rebate: neither system carries ENERGY STAR certification, including the SEER2 27.4 ATMOSPHERA.
That surprises people, because 27.4 is an excellent number. Certification is a separate process from efficiency, with criteria that vary by equipment type and that require the manufacturer to list the model. High efficiency does not automatically earn the badge, and most rebate programmes key on the badge rather than on SEER2. Warranty: both strong, ATMOSPHERA stronger
ATMOSPHERA: 12 years all parts, registered on time. ENTRA: up to 10 years all parts, registered within 60 days.
Both are well above the 5-parts/7-compressor industry norm, and both are conditional on registering promptly - Daikin's unregistered coverage falls to roughly 5 years, so this is a form worth filling in the week the installer leaves. Details in the warranty comparison.
Who each is for
The ATMOSPHERA buyer wants a genuine cold-climate system: full capacity down to 5F, a -13F operating floor, top-tier efficiency and 12 years of parts coverage. In any climate with a real winter, this is the Daikin to buy.
The ENTRA buyer is in a cooling-dominated climate where +5F never arrives and heating is a shoulder-season convenience. On those terms it is a reasonable, cheaper machine from a major manufacturer with a strong warranty. On any other terms it is the wrong purchase, and the price difference is not a saving.
One more thing the ENTRA buyer should know: AHRI lists the ENTRA as "Production Stopped" - no longer being manufactured, though still certified and still available for sale. That is what makes the pricing attractive, and it is a real reason to buy if the fit is right. It also means stock is finite, so confirm availability and parts support with your installer rather than assuming you can order another head next year. The ATMOSPHERA is in current production.
Bottom line
If winter matters at all where you live, buy the ATMOSPHERA. The ENTRA is a mild-climate cooling system that also heats a bit, and the shared badge hides how far apart they sit.
