The current program page provides online, mail, and email application routes. The 2026 form states promotion dates January 1 through December 31, 2026; rebates may change with 30 days' notice.
Does not cover mini-splits
The program expressly requires an ENERGY STAR-certified ducted heat pump.
Income-qualified program
None. Income requested on the form is demographic information, not an eligibility limit.
Tier 1: $700 with existing natural-gas backup or $1,000 with newly installed backup. Tier 2: $850 with existing backup or $1,200 with newly installed backup.

The published AHRI dual-fuel tier requires either 8.5 HSPF2/15.2 SEER2 with an 80 AFUE furnace or 7.5 HSPF2/14.3 SEER2 with a 90 AFUE furnace.
- Install
- Equipment must be new, installed in conditioned living space by a participating contractor, and not DIY. Follow the applicable pre-existing heating/fuel requirements and submit the online application and documents within 180 days of service completion.
Federal credit timing and state-program caveats are covered in the mini-split rebates and tax credits guide.
Code Notes
- Salt Lake City's FY2027 consolidated fee schedule lists a $59 mechanical-permit base fee. Repair, alteration, or addition to a heating or cooling system is $42 at contract value up to $1,000 or $102 above $1,000; installation or relocation of a compressor through 3 horsepower is $30. The city determines the applicable equipment fees and total from project scope. This is a Salt Lake City planning data point, not a statewide Utah fee; the local authority must confirm the required permits and current total.
