Error-code hub

Samsung error codes

Samsung shows a numeric code on the indoor display, usually as a pair of digits, and the WindFree lines share one diagnostic scheme so a code means the same thing across IAQ, Max Heat, Premium and Standard. The 39 codes below come from Samsung's service documentation. Free Joint Multi condensers report additional codes specific to multi-zone operation.

Unit applicability

Match your unit before reading the table

This table is sourced for WindFree Premium. If your unit is a different generation or product line not named here, the same display code may vary by generation.

Common codes first

Most broadly applicable documented codes

Ranking basis: we do not have failure-frequency telemetry. These are ordered by breadth of affected systems in the SplitAtlas catalog - the documented product line's published model count, whether the same code appears on more than one product line, and any manual applicability notes we hold. This is a breadth ranking, not a popularity claim.

C101

C101 is Indoor room temperature (TH) sensor error. The unit is stopping or limiting operation because that reading or component cannot be trusted. Manual trigger: C101 means Indoor room temperature (TH) sensor error.

AdvisoryTechnician
Breadth evidence
5 published catalog models on its documented product line. Manual applicability notes: Samsung R-32 residential ductless diagnostics anchored to WindFree Premium and used as common Samsung C-code homeowner guidance for current R-32 residential mini-split coverage.
Safe first check
Turn the system off with the remote, then power cycle once at the breaker or disconnect if you can do that safely. Expected result: a temporary sensor fault clears; if C101 returns, stop resetting and schedule service. Do not remove panels.

Safe first checks

Checks you can do without opening the unit

These codes have homeowner-safe steps such as filters, airflow, condensate/drain checks, remote/controller items, or a single safe power reset. If the code returns, stop at the boundary in the card.

C154DIY part

Turn the unit off, remove only the user-accessible air filter, clean and dry it, then reinstall it firmly without removing panels. If the filter frame is damaged, replace the user-serviceable filter with one verified for your indoor model. Reset once; if C154 returns, call for service.

Part route noted

No exact Samsung WindFree Premium parts page in the current catalog has a manufacturer-sourced OEM air filter number yet.
