3-MINUTE STANDBY

Samsung controls can delay compressor restart by about 3 minutes after power-up or a restart. That delay protects the compressor and is not a fault. Manual trigger: Three-minute standby is the compressor restart delay.

DEFROST

Defrost is normal in heating. The indoor fan may pause, the outdoor unit may steam, and heating should resume after the cycle finishes. Manual trigger: Defrost means the heat pump is clearing ice from the outdoor coil.
