This is the 12,000 BTU system to buy if one room has to stay warm through a northern winter and you want it cheap to run the rest of the year. It puts out more heat on a 5F morning than on a mild day, it keeps heating down to -22F, and it's the most efficient 12,000 BTU system we list.

The catch is how you buy it. Fujitsu doesn't authorize online sales, so it comes through a dealer who installs it, and the price reflects that. In a mild climate you'd be paying for cold-weather ability you'll never use.
