The MXZ-2D20NLHZ is the cold-climate version of Mitsubishi's smallest multi-zone: the same two-head, single-circuit 208/230V platform, upgraded with H2i Hyper-Heat for genuine deep-cold heating. It trades a hair of rated cooling efficiency (SEER2 19.3 vs the standard unit's 20) for a higher EER2 of 13.5 and, more importantly, the Hyper-Heat compressor that keeps usable output when temperatures fall well below freezing.

For two rooms in a northern climate this is the one to buy over the standard 2D20NL. R-454B refrigerant, ENERGY STAR certified, dealer-installed.
